It all Started with a vision and a purpose
Update: May 2022
High Gravity Adventures is one of the first aerial park and zip tour operators to receive Operations Accreditation from the Association for Challenge Course Technology. Accredited operations demonstrate a commitment to quality, professional practices, and ongoing adherence to industry standards. We are incredibly proud of our dedicated staff, who commit themselves to excellence every day.
The Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT) sets the standard of care and measure of excellence for zip line, aerial park, and challenge course operations. ACCT is the leading industry advocate offering education and professional development, specialist credentialing, and robust standards for aerial adventure facility design, installation, and management.
Our Story
High Gravity Adventures officially opened its doors in 2015, but that's not where our story begins. In fact, our story goes all the way back to 1992 when Blue Ridge Learning Center was established here in the High Country to create unique and meaningful experiences using the outdoors and adventure as a classroom for personal growth and development.
Countless groups have experienced Blue Ridge Learning programs at the Valle Crucis Conference Center, our former home of operations, and at our current basecamp at the Blowing Rock Conference Center. That's not, however, where our origin story ends.
Soon the vision expanded from creating unique experiences to building facilities where unique experiences are facilitated. Challenge Towers was established in 1996 and quickly became one of the top zip line, aerial park, and challenge course builders, providing operators with critical services like training and annual facility inspections. And because specialized equipment is vital to aerial adventure programs, we established Aerial Adventure Tech in 2011 to connect operators with the best gear from the top brands.
After decades of designing and supporting challenge course and aerial park operators, we knew it was time to bring our brand of active recreation to our hometown, so High Gravity Adventures was born in 2015.
